A major change in hospitality and airline travel was kicked off by Nicholas Bredimus, who combined them with the software industry to develop new procedures. His career highlights include effort-saving computer software, airplane safety improvements, and even the design of high-value houses.
Anyone could have predicted, mind you, that given his family tree he was a sure bet to rise to prominence. Traceable back to the glory days of Rome, in fact Nicholas’ provenience ties in with a great part of Europe. Following the maternal branch he descends from Scottish and German ancestry. A similarly varied mix typifies his father’s branch — ahead of coming to America near the end of the nineteenth century, Bredimus’ ancestors dwelt in Luxembourg and England.
This determined zeal pushed them on following their arrival. Part of a family of seven siblings — four girls and three boys — Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a nurse. He settled for a time in Kansas City, Texas, Arizona and a city by the name of Reston in Virginia.
So what, you might ask, did he do to capitalize on his background and education? A number of respected jobs were soon his, each one as part of distinguished airlines. These included the post of vice president for Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and, of course, Republic Airlines. These achievements nothwithstanding, the airlines have had reason to be thankful all the more for his innovation in software programming.

He is highly respected for one project for US Airways, namely his aircraft maintenance programs that are now used by almost all air carrier companies. He would go on to examine recording and making reservations. For both air travel and hotels he pioneered software to take on most of the work that had been involved until this approach. Pushing further into an alternate territory, he published a networking program to help with ticketing — once more making come about something no one else had managed to get their hands on. While this was definitely his strong suit, Mr Bredimus also often worked in areas not connected to software. Responsible titles with American Airlines and American Express followed, and as you may know he set up his own firm seventeen years ago.
Having withdrawn from the roles in which he first experienced fame, his abilities are, nevertheless, still very much in use. Look for his work now mastering building design — mixing the needs of esthetics with the bleeding edge of technology and true concern for the ecology. All of which shows you just how much laser targeted zeal can accomplish…
