Lily Allen has been made an honorary member of Lancashire Cricket Club. The singer, who watched most of this summer’s Ashes, revealed her love for the sport throughout the competition and at one point expressed an interest in commentating alongside David Lloyd. As a thank you for her continued support, Lancashire Cricket Club gave her a cricket bat signed by the likes of Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, as well as a complimentary shirt
Lily Allen has the world at her feet. The 24-year-old may have first hit the headlines as the wild child daughter of Keith, but now as a singer, actress and presenter, she’s more than made the Allen name her own.
This year she released her second album, It’s Not Me, It’s You. Musicians always call it the ‘difficult second album’, but how tough can it be?
“Er, it was quite difficult, not too difficult,” laughs Lily. “The most difficult thing about it was, the first album, I didn’t really expect anyone to listen to it, whereas this time people are going to listen to it and want to have an opinion about it, which, that was the only thing I found difficult about it, not the actual writing of songs.”
The album has catapulted Lily out of the tabloid gossip pages and into the glossy supplements. She’s GQ’s Woman of the year, and lead single The Fear, won her the Q Award for Best Track. The Fear is about Lily Allen’s pursuit of fame and celebrity, or so it seems…
